Inspired by a night in the Moroccan desert, where I stood surrounded by a herd of camels calling to each other in the darkness, The Whales captures the essence of that profound, earth-shaking sound. The synth takes on the role of a gigantic, unseen creature, resonating through the space, while the string quartet responds in waves of movement and texture.
This piece is part of my upcoming album, Is Everything About Letting Go?, an exploration of sound as communication—where music doesn’t just exist but speaks, echoes, and transforms.
